My Story
Hi,
I’m completing this year’s Sheffield 10k to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart. Causeway is a modern slavery and crime reduction charity that supports, empowers and creates lasting change for marginalised and vulnerable people. I am training hard to complete the course in the best possible time and any donation you can give would be fantastic motivation for me!
Causeway will ensure your donation is used to make a real difference, helping people recover from trauma and to develop safe, fulfilling futures. This includes survivors of modern slavery, many of whom have endured horrendous experiences of exploitation and abuse.
The following examples show how your donation can make a difference:
*£10 could pay for an emergency food package for a survivor of modern slavery when they first arrive at one of our safehouses.
*£25 could enable us to purchase new clothing for a survivor who has recently escaped exploitation with no other possessions.
*£30 could provide a survivor living alone in the community with the safety net of being able to access our LifeLine project, ensuring they always have someone to turn to for support.
*£240 could enable us to provide an essential white good item, such as a washing machine or refrigerator, for a survivor moving into their new home after years of being exploited by others.
Whatever you can afford, I would be grateful for any donation you can make. You can also find out more about Causeway and its amazing work via this link: https://www.wearecauseway.org.uk/
